Yogeeta (Geeta)Kumar

I am a recent graduate from Mount Saint Mary's University, where I successfully completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Throughout my academic journey, I have cultivated a deep passion for healthcare and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care. My passion for nursing was ignited during my personal journey of going through chemotherapy when I was diagnosed with Stage III Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Witnessing the profound impact that nurses had on my life during this challenging time reaffirmed my belief in the power of compassionate and competent healthcare professionals. This defining moment fueled my desire to become a dedicated nursing professional, devoted to providing exceptional care and support to those in need.

My passion to become a nurse allowed me to excel in the accelerated and challenging pace of the nursing program. It was during my clinicals at some of the amazing institutions in Los Angeles County where I realized an internal calling to be a critical care nurse. This is my long term career goal that I am striving for.

I firmly believe that my capability of being a strong critical thinker, having strong decision-making skills, the ability to stay calm under pressure, effective communication, teamwork and having a compassionate bedside manner would enable me to be an excellent critical care nurse.

I have also started working towards that goal by getting certifications through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

As I transition from a nursing student to a professional nurse, I am eager to embark on a fulfilling career that allows me to make a difference in the lives of my patients. I am committed to continuing my professional development, pursuing advanced certifications, and staying abreast of the latest medical advancements to provide the best possible care.
